We’ve seen lots – LOTS – of strange stuff on the late-night editions of the TNT network’s “Inside the NBA” program. This latest tidbit is one of the strangest…
Sometimes it’s just downright absurd… funnier stuff than any given Saturday Night Live. (Sorry…not sorry.) On Inside the NBA this week, on a program that aired after midnight on the east coast, trouble struck, and struck hard.
Following Chris Paul’s interview at the end of a super-exciting game between the Phoenix Suns and the Portland Trail Blazers, Sir Charles Barkley suffered a painful cramp in his hamstring… probably from sitting so long on the TV set well into the night. Barkley rattled the rest of the on-air team and the studio crew by jumping up out of his chair and trying to shake it out.
Then it was O’Neal to the rescue. Seeing his colleague and friend could use a little help, got up and started massaging Chuck’s upper thigh.
The video quickly turns into a full-on viral moment…hilarious! Check out the full video by clicking this link.
The progression of Shaq’s facial expressions is priceless. He goes from looking totally confused as to what’s happening, to mildly concerned, to laughing his rear-end off. No surprise, this led to big-time laughter and second-by-second commentary from fellow show colleague Ernie Johnson, along with Chuck and Shaq doing their best stand-up comedy with jokes about the impromptu physical therapy session.
Barkley put it this way: “Damn, take me to dinner.” As things got going, Johnson added, “Anybody got a pack of smokes?”
Doctor Shaq put it this way: “The only thing I’m missing is the blue glove, huh? Chuck, this is gonna hurt me more than it’s gonna hurt you.”
Yes, Charles and Shaq often square off in verbal battles on the Inside the NBA set. You’ve probably seen the icy glares across the set between the two. Still, O’Neal and Barkley are good friends. Good to know!
