We’ve been covering Shaq’s recent birthday celebration for the big 5-0. In case you missed it, the actual date was last weekend, and it wrapped up with a big party at a hot nightclub and restaurant at South Beach, Miami.
Plenty of Shaq’s friends were there, from sports, business and other well-known celebrities. Those that couldn’t be there in person sent video greetings. There’s a really good one from Inside the NBA partner Charles Barkley floating around online, if you want to check it out.
One of the celebs there in person had a great suggestion for the big man. Actor Jonah Hill, a buddy of O’Neal’s, suggested he and Shaq collaborate on an update of the old movie “Twins.”
In case you never saw it (or never heard of it), the original version of the flick featured The Terminator himself – Arnold Schwarzenegger and comic actor Danny DeVito as “twins” long separated and finally getting back together for some fun. (If you haven’t seen it, you can probably find it on Netflix and a host of other online streaming platforms…. Funny stuff.)
In honor of O’Neal’s big birthday, Hill posted a pic of himself standing with Shaq on his Instagram account. Hill is not that big a guy, and the size difference between the two is even more impressive, compared to Schwarzenegger and DeVito. Hill has appeared in a number of films, both comic and serious. Most recently, he’s been a regular on Wolf of Wall Street.
“Happy birthday to the GOAT @shaq let’s remake Twins,” Hill, 38, wrote in the caption. No word yet if Shaq is interested in the project, but we’re thinking the pairing could make for a pretty hilarious flick. What do you think?
Shaq’s birthday celebration has been quite the ongoing party. The birthday greetings have been flowing in from friends and followers all over the world. Actor Jennifer Hudson posted a pic of herself standing next to a giant-sized cardboard cutout of O’Neal in an office supply store. (Shaq is a corporate spokesperson for Epson computer printers and office equipment.)
Hudson wrote on her IG, “This man is everywhere.” (True, BTW.) She sent her birthday greetings while shopping for school supplies for her kids. She added, “We want to wish this legend a Happy Birthday on today!!”
Now into his next year, Shaq is making plans to up his game. We’ve already posted about the big party for the Big Football Game, Shaq’s Fun House. He’s already promised the next Fun House is already in the works for next year’s game in Phoenix.
He’s also got some personal goals, too. Before his birthday, he did an interview with Men’s Health magazine, saying he’s got some big fitness goals. Shaq says he wants to get back “down” to 350 lbs. after gaining weight during the pandemic. He’s promised to “go topless” for an Instagram photoshoot when that big event happens. Yikes!
