Shaq doesn’t usually weigh in on people’s personal lives, but he just couldn’t help himself when it comes to comment on this particular celebrity couple.
The couple? Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan. To those who don’t know, that’s the ex-wife of Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen, and the son of the other half of the Bulls dynamic duo, the one and only Michael Jordan. The couple surprised the world after they were spotted together – in a dating sort of way – last September. They’ve sort of, kind of been a thing since then… even if Scottie’s ex said the pair is – wait for it – “just friends.”
There have been other sightings since then, including a nice intimate beach date in South Beach, Miami, Florida. Word on the streets is that the couple made their romance official in November.
According to a story on BasketballNetwork.com, this whole thing has come as quite a shock to friends and family. The age gap is definitely there – Jordan (Marcus Jordan, of course) is 17 years younger than Pippen. Now, that’s not a crazy number, especially not when it comes to celebrities, but it’s still causing some raised eyebrows.
On a recent edition of his “Big Podcast with Shaq,” the big man said he was just as shocked as the rest of the world when he heard the story. O’Neal did offer some commentary, but not before reminding listeners that he’s not a big fan of getting into other people’s personal business.
Shaq: “It just looks bad because it just looks bad. I like to mind my business, but it just looks really bad. Mike to his son, no. Larsa to Scottie, yes. It wasn’t a friendly one. I know exactly what Scottie said.”
Larsa Pippen is – as of this writing – 48 years old. She and Scottie were married for 24 years. At first, they spoke of getting a divorce back in 2016, but they apparently worked through some of their troubles and stayed together for 5 more years. The couple share 4 children, but it seems the relationship eventually fell apart for good.
As for Scottie Pippen, the five-time NBA champion has yet to publicly speak about his feelings and thoughts over his ex-wife having a relationship with a former teammate’s son.
We’re guessing that – just like Shaq – Scottie has got to believe that this just simply “not a good look.”
