Got summer vacation plans? Maybe the beach, somewhere in Florida… or California… or Texas? All good choices, of course. But when you’re an NBA superstar and celebrity known around the world, sometimes you’ve just got to aim higher. Take our man Shaq, for example.
O’Neal, along with several other current and former NBA superstars, have all been spotted over the past few weeks on the beaches of – not Florida – but Greece! Not a bad place to chill, if you’ve got the cash to travel and splurge. And of course, these guys do.
Along with Shaq, names like Paul George, Karl-Anthony Towns, Patrick Beverley, and Ivica Zubac were all spotted enjoying their holidays in Mykonos, an island off the southeast coast of mainland Greece.
Not to be outdone, former Laker great Earvin “Magic” Johnson Jr. posted a photograph on social media of himself and his family onboard their yacht which is currently traversing the beautiful blue waters of the Greek Mediterranean. (“Their” yacht?!? Nice…)
Seems the island of Mykonos has become a popular destination this summer vacation season for well-known players. Some weeks, there’s enough of the big-name players tooling around that the place looks like an NBA summer camp.
A local video crew called Mykonos Live TV had been hanging out at the oh-so-popular Branco Hotel. That’s where they spotted Los Angeles Clippers’ star Paul George enjoying the sun and sea alongside his wife, Daniela Rajic.
Also spotted with George were other NBA stars such as Karl-Anthony Towns from the Minnesota Timberwolves; Patrick Beverley, of the Philadelphia 76ers; and another Clippers star, Ivica Zubac.
Around the same time, former NBA star Magic Johnson posted a picture on Instagram of his family yachting in Greece. “My family and I rocking our new Commanders swag on the yacht today in Greece!”
NBA starts aren’t the only ones visiting the Mediterranean this summer. Tennis star Rafael Nadal has been seen in the Greek city of Patras. Last month, stars of a different breed (the Hollywood kind), Matt Damon and Chris and Liam Hemsworth were spotted on the Greek island of Mykonos.
