Shaq’s Bass All-Stars in DFW

August 25, 2023

Kind of like the preseason in the NFL (going on right now) or the NBA, Shaq and his musical friends did a show this week in Colombia, Missouri. We’re thinking the big man – in the guise of his musical alter ego, DJ Diesel – was getting the show warmed up for a bigger production coming in less than a month down in Texas.

The show this week (as of this posting date), was an outdoor event put together by the MyHouse nightclub in Columbia. The downtown show closed off a couple local streets and brought a big crowd, of course.

The show, featuring Shaq’s Bass All Stars, included – along with DJ Diesel himself – the likes of Riot Ten, Sippy, Saient and Midas. Local officials estimated the crowd at about three thousand fans.

Shaq has been pumping up his musical work over the summer. As we all know, when he’s on stage doing his mixes, O’Neal goes by the moniker DJ Diesel. That probably dates all the way back to 1993, when the four-time NBA champ first ventured into music with his debut hip hop record, “Shaq Diesel.”

Since 2015, DJ Diesel has made appearances at all kinds of music and lifestyle events around the world, mixing his personal blend of hip hop, trap and EDM (electronic dance music.)

Now that the show in Missouri has wrapped, Shaq’s Bass All Stars hit the road, and get ready for a bigger (way bigger!) event in Texas. It’s the Shaq’s Bass All Star Festival, the night of Saturday, September 16 at the Panther Island Pavilion in downtown Fort Worth, just west of the Big D, Dallas.

On the website, https://shaqsbassallstars.com, the hype is well underway: “Shaquille O’neal is taking Shaq’s Bass All Stars to the next level with his first large scale bass festival! Featuring a lineup of Shaq’s favorite bass acts, Texas’s largest bass festival will welcome 10,000 fans and bring the bass music community together!”

Align with Shaq as DJ Diesel, the show will feature some of the biggest names in the EDM biz, including Alison Wonderland, Kai Wachi, Sullivan King and Crankdat, with special guest Layz. Those are just the headliners.. There’s an even bigger lineup – check the website.

As they say on TV, tickets are already on sale, but they’re going fast. In fact, the VIP tickets are already gone. A quick check of the website shows that MOST of the regular admission tickets have already been snapped up as well. Some are still available, but if you’re interested, you’ll want to jump over to the website and get yours ASAP.
