They say “art imitates life,” or something like that. We’re not sure what the “art” of the experience is, but it was cool and funny – really funny – to see our man Shaq doing his best Draymond Green impression with Sir Charles on a recent edition of Inside the NBA.
If you’ve been watching NBA action lately, you know that one of the most action-packed moments of the new season (so far, at least), was when Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves big man Rudy Golbert got into a shoving match that escalated big time. It started as the Warriors and Wolves were less than two minutes into their game this past Tuesday night (as of this post date). Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels began scrapping near mid-court, then everyone got involved and at one point Draymond Green put Rudy Gobert in a full-on chokehold. Crazy, for sure.
Seems the animosity between the two teams has been brewing since they faced each other on the prior weekend. Green and Anthony Edwards got into it that night and were jawing at each other for a while.
In the moment, McDaniels and Thompson were ejected, as was Green. In case you were wondering, the Timberwolves went on to beat the Warriors 104-101.

Not long after, the Inside the NBA action. The regular crew of Shaq, Barkley, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson were having a nice, regular conversation. As we remember, it was all about Kenny Smith getting ready to celebrate some family milestone. Normal stuff, right?
Shaq got up out of his chair and walked across the set, with his hand extended, to shake with Smith… but at the last second, he veered off and went after Barkley! Check the videos for all the hard-hitting Wrestlemania action. Funny stuff. No word if Sir Charles suffered any damage. We’re guessing he’s OK.
As usual, fan reaction was fast and furious…and funny. Check some of the X / Twitter comments below.
After the fact, there was more action against Green. The NBA front office officially suspended him for five games. It was the biggest suspension given out over that night’s action. The league cited Green’s past behavior for the severity of the punishment.
