No doubt you’ve heard of and listened to our guy’s “Big Podcast With Shaq.” Many of the stories that we blog about here on the ShaqFu Radio blog start out on that very same podcast. Well, along with being a great show, the podcast is also the “flagship” program of an entire network of podcasts under O’Neal’s corporate leadership.
What else did you expect from Shaq? This is a guy who sees – and grabs – business opportunities wherever and whenever he sees them, and usually creates another success story. Podcasting is a huge business right now, with guys like Joe Rogan and Tucker Carlson (and many, many others) ditching “traditional media” for the opportunity to put on their own show.

The BIG Podcast with SHAQ
In the podcast world, plenty of sports superstars are starting and running their own shows. Joining the ranks of superstar-and-now-podcaster is Angel Reese, WNBA star of the Chicago Sky. Of course, if you follow the ShaqFu Radio blog, you also know the special relationship Reese has with Shaq. They’re both graduates of LSU and were both starts of their respective men’s and women’s hoops teams. Shaq was a part of Reese’s Senior Day ceremony at the school, and they’ve been friends for a while.
Now Reese is gearing up for her new show, to be called “Unapologetically Angel.” Like a lot of other podcasts, the show will not only be on Apple Podcasts, but also on social outlets such as YouTube, Instagram, X and TikTok. Here’s the big news: The show will be one of the partner programs in Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Podcast Network.
Shaq has already taken to social media to announce the deal. Needless to say, he’s pretty excited about it, saying in a press release: “Already one of the most recognizable players in the WNBA, Angel is changing the game with her skills and by being true to herself.”
O’Neal continued, “My goal with ‘The Big Podcast Network’ has always been to uplift fresh and diverse voices that transcend sports, and nobody encapsulates that better than Angel.” No doubt the deal and partnership is a big one for both parties…Shaq’s company and Angel herself.
During her playing time at LSU, Shaq became someone Reese could talk to – in private – about the challenges of sports stardom and how that bright spotlight impacts real life. The two have talked many times, and Shaq has acted as a father figure… as we said, he was the one who walked her on court during the team’s Senior Day celebration.
As for her pro career, it’s off to a great start. In her first WNBA season with the Chicago Sky, Angel is averaging 13.5 points and 12.9 rebounds per game. With the addition of well-known names like Reese Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever, women’s basketball is having its most popular, well-received season ever.
As for the new podcast, they’re in the works right now. New episodes will be dropping every Thursday, and the launch date for Episode number one is scheduled for September 5th. We’ll be listening!
