When you’re Shaquille O’Neal, doing things the ordinary way isn’t even on the menu. This week, the basketball legend and car aficionado took to Instagram to unveil the latest addition to his impressive collection: a custom Lucid Air electric sedan. But in classic Shaq fashion, this isn’t your average EV—it’s a Shaq-sized masterpiece.
In his post, Shaq showed off the tricked-out ride, complete with oversized side doors and a redesigned rear window to fit his 7’1” frame comfortably. Oh, and the Lucid Air’s sleek logo? That’s been swapped out for a bold “Diesel” badge, because if Shaq’s driving it, it’s gotta have his name on it.
“Shaq had his new Lucid Air turned into a 2-door and customized to match his Rolls-Royce Cullinan, all done by West Coast Customs. When you’re 7’1”, you’ve got to do things your own way…,” the NBA Hall of Famer wrote in the post.

And here’s show Shaq had his modded up. Nice!

The Lucid Air joins an already jaw-dropping lineup of cars in Shaq’s garage. From his 1998 Ferrari 355 F1 Spider to his Rolls-Royce Cullinan, a 2001 Chevrolet Express G1500, and even a Tesla Cybertruck, the man clearly knows his way around both classic and futuristic rides.
Speaking of the Cybertruck, Shaq made waves in September when he revealed his second Tesla beast, this one decked out with a black wrap, flashy 26-inch rims, and underglow lights. In a video shared online, Shaq boasted, “I hate to say it, but I got the cleanest Cybertruck in the country.”
Shaq’s Lucid Air isn’t just another electric car—it’s a fully personalized statement piece. Besides the two-door conversion and signature “Diesel” branding, the car features multispoke black alloy wheels with his iconic Superman logo shining proudly. It’s a perfect example of Shaq’s larger-than-life personality brought to life on four wheels.
This latest project was brought to reality by West Coast Customs, the famed auto shop known for transforming celebrity rides into rolling works of art. If you’re wondering why a Lucid Air caught Shaq’s attention, it’s probably because the luxury EV is already an icon in the making. Lucid’s chief operations officer, Marc Winterhoff, recently described the Air as “generations ahead” of its competition.
“Our first car, the Lucid Air, was generations ahead of its competition and still holds that title today,” Winterhoff said in an interview earlier this month. “The future of transportation is electric, and Lucid intends to expand its leadership position with groundbreaking technologies.”
A nice bit of Shaq-personalization, too!
Shaq’s love for customization isn’t new—he’s been turning heads with his cars for years. And as electric vehicles continue to dominate the future of transportation, it’s no surprise that he’s found a way to make his mark in the EV world.
Whether he’s dropping jaws with his Cybertruck upgrades or turning an elegant Lucid Air into a Shaq-sized coupe, one thing is clear: When Shaquille O’Neal hits the road, it’s anything but subtle. Keep your eyes peeled—who knows what Diesel will roll out next.
