Shaq Can Still Dunk… In a Suit, Too!

December 9, 2024

Couple of quick updates from our man Shaq from the past few days. Awesome visuals from Inside the NBA, and O’Neal’s appearance at a popular Florida Christmas parade, as well. With offices in Florida, we love reporting on Shaq-sightings here in the Sunshine State!

First, it was classic Inside the NBA on TNT last Tuesday night (as of this  posting date). During some of the usual banter and trash talk between Shaq and Sir Charles, it was Barkley who said that another former big man and NBA superstar, Hakeem Olajuwon, was able to “get in to Shaq’s head” back in playing days, giving him some trouble.

Talk is nice, but actions, as they say, speak louder than words. The action was O’Neal showing that he’s still got the skills, as he did a nice dunk – while still wearing his looking-good-for-TV suit – at the same time! Yes, there’s video, so we know it happened. Check below:

As it happened, there were words of caution from co-hosts Kenny “The Jet” Smith and Ernie Johnons. Smith asked Shaq to be sure not to hurt himself on live TV. But no worries! Shaq made the dunk, and made it look pretty easy. Not a huge challenge at seven foot one, of course, but still… the guy is 51 years old and wearing street clothes.

When it was done, Shaq’s reaction was simple, yelling, “Are you not entertained?” to his co-hosts and the TV cameras in studio. For those who don’t remember, that was one of the great lies from the first Gladiator movie, with Russel Crowe getting the action.

As always, Inside the NBA is there for us, providing above-the-rim entertainment!

Unrelated Shaq news, but still worth a mention here on the blog.  Shaq-a-Claus made one of his many appearances this past weekend in Gainesville, Florida, home of the University of Florida Gators.

Shaq was the Grand Marshall of this year’s edition of the “Very GNV Holiday Parade” held this past Saturday (again, as of this posting date). Why Shaq? Why Gainesville? Well, it’s probably got something to do with the fact that his youngest daughter, Me’Arah, is playing in her first season with the Lady Gators basketball team. Nice! Check out the parade action:
